Update from the President, with further information on our free courtesy van
Hi Members
We have had some great news with our build project.
The council have allowed us to split our consent.
This means after an inspection, we will be able to start the bar renovation behind the screens.
While waiting for our structural steel sign-off.
There will be some disruption and noise during the day.
Thank you for your great attendance at the recent AGM,
It was great to see so many there and with some interesting points to ponder.
Obviously, there is a problem with the parking, with some great ideas being put forward.
We, as a committee, will look at these and see what we can come up with.
We also appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we navigate these changes and improvements,
and we will do our best to keep you informed of progress and minimize any inconvenience.
If you have any further suggestions or concerns.
Please feel free to reach out to the committee, as your input is always valued and helps us move forward together as a club.
At the AGM, it was pointed out that the club has issues with non-members using the car park.
The car park is for Members and guests who are using the club rooms.
The Executive is also very aware that we don't have enough parks available during the day,
So we are going to trial run the bus during the day to collect
Members to come to the club for their daytime activities.
To make all this happen we are looking for volunteers to help police the car park from 7.15am to 11am for a few weeks.
Also, to drive the free courtesy bus from 8am to 2pm Monday - Friday.
You do not need to have a 'P' (passenger) licence to do this driving; only a full NZ Driver's Licence will be required.
The trial will commence next Monday, 8th September. The timetable will be as follows:
First run: 7am for 55+ Snooker only
Second run: 8am
We will run the van as requested throughout the day, with the last run home being at 2pm.
Passengers: Please book your ride the day prior to pick up by phoning Reception on: 07 578 7023
This will help relieve the demand on the carpark in the mornings.
Please contact the office if you are able to help with either policing the carpark in the mornings, or help with the free courtesy van runs.
The normal Wed - Sat van schedule will run as usual.
